                                                        PANAMA 1983-1994 

• In October 1983 the Panama-based 2–187th had one airborne company (Moatengators) stationed at Fort Kobbe. During a realignment of the United States Army combat forces in 1987 2/187th Moatengators were re flagged with the 1-508th PIR.
•  In July 1987 the 1-508th PIR was assigned to the 193RD INF BDE and was stationed  at Fort Kobbe until the were deactivated in 1994.
